  • Microsoft expands use of Intel threat detection technology.
  • 53% increase in crypto attacks in the last year.
  • Collaboration between Microsoft and Intel aims to give customers peace of mind.

Microsoft announced yesterday that they would expand the use of Intel’s Threat Detection Technology. Initially used primarily on accelerated memory scanning capabilities to activate central processing unit based crypto mining machine learning detection, they now plan to accelerate the use of endpoint detection.

Fresh vaccine uncertainty across Europe looks likely to affect the Eurozone economy further as member states remain unable to come to a consensus on the AstraZeneca vaccine.

The U.K. Medicines regulator is now recommending that people under 30 not be given the AstraZeneca vaccine and this is expected to affect the pound. However, outlook is hopeful that this will be mitigated by the U.K. commencing the roll-out of Moderna’s vaccine from Wednesday. And despite these losses the Pound is still up 3.6% against the Euro in 2021.

In this regard we should keep an eye on developments around tax policy and the EU’s intentions in the ensuing years. With the EU Commissions latest appeal against the Apple Tax ruling we have a chance to assess what is coming down the track (hint: it’s not just Brexit we have to worry about).

Tax policy is high on the list of issues the commission wish to address, and…

The recent election was dominated by social issues and particularly the housing crisis. Every party agreed on the need for improved supply. While they differ on estimates and means for achieving supply, they agree it’s needed. But they all ignore a fundamental problem in Ireland — we do not have a robust method of measuring actual home completions.

The Central Statistics Office released their figures on the number of dwellings completed in 2019 this week and spectacularly the number rose by 18.5% from the previous year. Making it the most productive year for house completions in a decade. This must…
